Weddings

In order to avoid confusion, misunderstandings or even unhappiness the following conditions have to apply.

• Persons not involved in the final co-ordination meeting should not make verbal or unauthorized changes before or on the day of the function. Changes will only be accepted if put in writing by an authorized person and agreed to by our function Manager. No other members of our staff may be involved.
• Should the outstanding balance of the function account not be received seven days prior to the function date, the function will be cancelled. The venue hire and any other payment will then be forfeited. (Confirmation deposit & Venue hire)
• The Key will be prepared to make storage and preparation facilities available for goods like, decor, wedding cakes, gifts ect. 24 hours prior to the function time. All deliveries are to be cleared with management to ensure no damages or disruption is caused to the venue.The Key’s kitchens may not be utilized by clients.
• All decorations are to be discussed with management to ensure that no damage is done to the venue. Decor, set-up and flower arrangements must be completed three hours prior to commencement of the function in order to allow for the Key to do final clearing, cleaning and preparing of catering and must afterwards be removed by 09h30 the following day, failing which either a clearing charge will be raised of R1000.00.
• Candles must be placed in appropriate containers to prevent the wax from dripping onto the linen, any damages will be deducted from the breakage deposit.
• Catering charges for non-arrivals cannot be credited.
• No Liquor or food leftover may be taken from the venue, whether by way of ” Doggy bags ” or in whatever manner and my only be consumed in the venue.
• No food or liquor may be brought in the venue by the client or the guest.
• The venue will not necessarily be available for set up the day before. In the case of the venue being required the day before, an additional venue cost is payable.
• The Key or any of its employees do not accept responsibility or liability for loss, damages or theft by whatsoever cause concerning any items brought into or left in the venue by anybody, or loss or injury to persons due to negligence or any other causes whatsoever to the property or life of the client or persons associated with the client.
• The DJ used by the client must vacate the venue before 24h30 or the client will be charged R500.00 and the DJ must supply his own Generator during power load shedding.
• The client will be directly responsible and will be charged for any breakages, loss and damages regarding the property, venue, building, furniture, carpeting, linen, cutlery, crockery, utensils etc. caused by the client, guests, florist, disco, entertainers, suppliers or any other person associated with the client.
• The Key reserves the right to cancel any booking forthwith in the event of any damage or destruction of the venue by any cause, or due to shortage of labor, strike, industrial unrest, power failure, order or non-approval by the local authority, or any other cause beyond control of the management, or due to any act of god which shall prevent it from fulfilling its obligation.
• The Key does not accept responsibility or liability, of any kind for loss or inconvenience of any nature due to the above causes.
• All guests must park on the pavement in Scott street.
• The side gate to the function hall will only be available for off loading. All cars are to be moved immediately after off loading.
• The Key reserves the right to close the bar, or stop the musical arrangements, or cut off the electrical power, or even end the proceedings, altogether, at any time or for any duration of time or for any reason that may, in its sole discretion, be harmful to the
  property, staff or guest.

No changes, alterations, variations or cancellations of any of the above conditions as well as the signed arrangements shall be binding on The Key unless agreed thereto in writing. I by my signature hereto , agree to bind myself as surety for all amounts that may be due or become due and owing by the client to The Key from time to time and during the duration of the contract.

The payment of the venue cost secures the booking and is non-refundable in the event of cancellations. No provisional booking will
be allowed.

The venue hire may not be extended after 24h00 at an additional charge. Its not permitted in a residential area.

The bar will call the last round at 23h45 and close at 24h00. The DJ and all guest’s must vacate the venue by no later than24h30.

Failure to do so will result in a charge of R1000.00 per hour commencing at 24h30. This fee will be deducted from the Breakage deposit.

The above hours is applicable to an evening function and the same will apply to the morning and mid day functions.

I have read, do understand, accept and agree to abide by the above terms and conditions, as well as the signed function information
as handed to me by The Key.

I agree and understand that should any of our guest’s consume liquor that was not supplied from the cash bar at THE KEY, THE KEY has the right to stop the function and no monies will be refunded, including the breakage deposit.

The client should notify their guest’s in advance that a cash bar will be available, to avoid misunderstanding.

Please ensure that your MC announce the above to all your guest’s at the start of your function.
